Perhaps, 13-year-old girls are all similar, but I remember being Mei’s age.
Like Mei, I was in band, had a group of close friends and was absolutely convinced I was an adult. I also had a lot of obsessions and fantasies about the future.
I also went to the midnight release for Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix.
I was obsessed with Lord of the Rings. My friends and I called ourselves the 4 hobbits. (Full disclosure, I’m still obsessed with Lord of the Rings.)
I had a major crush on the actor Orlando Bloom and would imagine our future together.
In some ways, I was way more sure of myself. I had growing pains, but back then, I was just Catie. I didn’t have to juggle all the things I do now.
There are some things about growing up I’m glad are over. But I’m having fun reminiscing this month.
