I can’t help but see a lot of bad in our world.
I try not to think it’s all bad all of the time. But, when there are hurricanes, war, and all the issues in-between, it’s really hard not to think it.
A mermaid has her own issues. However, she wouldn’t see what I do under the sea. What does Sebastian say, “The human world, it’s a mess.” The cranky crab isn’t wrong.
But Ariel does see all the good things. The things we create and leave behind. The things we take for granted. Music boxes, trinkets, thingamabobs, paintings, statues and whatzits galore. Just look at her (aka watch the video below):
Those are things that make our world beautiful. Make our world good. Who wouldn’t want to be a part of it? Ariel does give me more more hope being a part of our world, makes me more grateful.
Did you know that if you practice gratitude, you can change your brain?
It helps reduce stress, increase happiness and improve depression.
Here’s a link to an article that can explain it better than I can if you are interested: https://www.psychologytoday.com/us/basics/gratitude
I have been inspired to dust off my old gratitude journal. I haven’t used it in 2 years. I am going to start using it again every day.
I’ll start now.
Today I am grateful for:
- Ariel
- Modern medicine
- Renaissance Festivals
- Long weekends
- Being human
What are you grateful for?
