When I was 16 and my cousin was 4, we were played Star Wars in my backyard. We shot blasters. We chased each other around the pool. And I jumped up on the corn hole board, perfect for sneak attacks…
O.K. not so perfect. I ended up falling and fracturing my wrist. But, hey! I was really into the game.
I was raised on Star Wars because of my dad. I still get him Star Wars collectibles for birthdays and holidays. He took me out of school to see Star Wars: Attack of the Clones. So, it probably doesn’t surprised you when I say Princess Leia was one of the first princesses that I looked up to. I distinctly remember having a Princess Leia folder in first grade and being very proud of it.
I had a hard time figuring out where to do photos this month. My friends helped me brainstorm and thought of really cools spots, but when I saw the snow (which makes me nostalgic) and thought of that one time I broke my wrist… it just made sense to play Star Wars in the backyard again.
So, here’s Princess Leia’s adventures in the backyard:

“You can’t get me Darth Vader! You slime ball, you! Pew! pew! pew! pew!“

“Pew! Pew!”
R2-D2 is such a reliable droid. He will get the plans to Obi Wan!
“Die stormtroopers, die! I shall destroy you! Pew! Pew!“
