I don’t think Esmeralda gets the attention she deserves, but I don’t think she’s someone who cares about being mainstream as long as she gets to do what she believes is right.
Esmeralda is a princess because…
She is passionate,

feisty

and can kick butt.

She sees past appearances to the real person within.

She walks barefoot and has an animal sidekick to boot (very princessly traits).

She can dance like there’s no tomorrow.

She is confident with who she is and won’t change what she believes to save her life.

And she thinks of others before herself.

Even when she can’t seem to understand the world around her,

It only makes her fight harder.

My Goals for the Month Inspired by Esmeralda:
- I would like to reconnect with my spiritual side. I’m not a religious person, but I still have my beliefs and they get lost in depression and I often feel disjointed. I’ve been using tarot cards (very stereotypical gypsy) and using Esmeralda’s song as my theme and inspiration (it’s always been on of my favorite Disney songs).
2. Volunteer. This might be a bit difficult given our current circumstances, but I recently read The Moment of Lift by Melinda Gates and she has a list of great organizations to join. Her focus is lifting up women, and I would like to do that as well.
3. Dance. I used to dance when I was a kid. Loved it. I chose other pursuits when I got older and lost that love along the way. My wonderful father made me a tap dancing floor so I can start up again (you can see it in my Esmeralda photos) and I have to practice belly dancing (I have a book and everything).
4. If JoAnn’s is still open (is it?) – make this tambourine!
