I’ve had a couple ideas of how I wanted to reboot Jane this month. I thought about another photo shoot and a “Catie’s Commentary on the Movie Tarzan”.
These things still might happen, but I think I’ll start with what I do usually in the middle of the month and see how it goes.
So, without further ado-
Jane is a Princess Because…
She’s creative

and passionate about her well, passions.

She’s a good storyteller

and talks to animals.

She’s a romantic

and she’s not afraid to tell off a wild man.

She loves animals

and is a little quirky.

The movie Tarzan came out when I was 9, and Jane has been one of my favorite Disney heroines ever since. I like her for all the things I mentioned above, and also because I have always liked gorillas. (I also blame the movie Mighty Joe Young for this.)
My Jane Inspired Goals:
- Adopt a gorilla.
I don’t know if I’ll have the funds to do this, but maybe I’ll find another way to help our animal cousins.

- Make Terk’s Banana S’mores
Chocolate, (vegan) marshmallows, bananas, graham crackers, cinnamon…. Need I say more?
- See the wildlife.
Now, in September I actually went to The Wilds with my friend and her family. It was so much fun, and I highly recommend you go. But that seems like a lifetime ago and Christmas lights will be coming up. Also, The Wilds is amazing, but they don’t have gorillas there. So, I’m hoping I can find time to go to the zoo this month.
Here are some photos from The Wilds (Be warned, there’s a picture of a bloody knee. I might have injured myself a little bit):

- Work on my passions.
Jane loves her gorillas and wants nothing more to see them. One of the tools I learned in my group program was to make a list of the things I love and used to love to do. (Used to love because sometimes when you’re depressed you don’t love anything anymore.) The head of the program said to even write things down that you loved in high school. Then, create a list of the things you’ve always wanted to do.
Some of the items on my list included: reading, writing, spending times with friends and family and movies. Others surprised me: swimming, dance, musicals. Then there were the ones I forgot about: photography (remember when you bought that camera, Catie?), yoga, makeup.
It might be too late in the year to go swimming now, and I know that if I try to do them all I won’t do anything. So, I’m going to pick one or two to get acquainted with again.
That’s all I have for now!
Until next time!
